I had a delicious find in the garden this weekend that I wanted to share with you! It made me grin from ear to ear!
I do love surprises from the garden and this one was a goody.
Wrapping up my gardening posts was fun. With all that crazy content I hand’t any room left for this last little tidbit.
There are so many wonderful reasons to tend a garden. These are the ones that keep me coming back for more!
- Gardening is a fantastic stress reliever and can be quite meditative
- Good exercise
- To be a good steward of the earth
- Increases the health of the soil (if done organically/biodynamically)
- Supports nature and all of its critters (sometimes a little too much)
- Healing, soothing and nurturing
- You can’t get much more local than your own backyard!
This was the haul from this weekends harvest. The last of the potatoes and lettuce I’m afraid, but with so much left yet to harvest it’s certainly the garden that keeps on giving!
The Luckiest Find
I am always amazed of the simple pleasures that life offers us. They are sometimes small and overlooked or they can be as plain as day. I am a firm believer that there is a gift in everything, small or large, light or dark, in any situation whatsoever you just have to open your mind and eyes and have a look.
This past weekend I was lucky enough to behold a few wonderful gifts that make me grin like a kid in a candy store (ironic analogy for me ). I would like to share a couple of them with you.
Spending some time gardening in the sunshine this weekend I took a few minutes to lay in the grass with a couple of my favourite peeps. Only one got the photo op. but he is the cutest, furriest and most photogenic of them all.
To see my feline friend Mushroom, so content, rolling back and forth in the sun in sheer bliss makes me feel happy!
Back to work I go and as I was busily harvesting the carrots these two lovely lovers popped right out of the earth, what a wonderful surprise!
Sometimes we need to take our cues from nature.
The luckiest finds are usually right under our noses. I am very grateful not only to have these small pleasures come my way but to be able to recognize them is the biggest gift of all!
That’s it for now
