Brrrrrr! We just got back from down south to find ourselves in a wintery wonderland. I can’t wait to strap on my skis!

I love being able to travel to warmer climates in the thick of winter. 2011 Here We Come!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and brought in the new year with gusto.

This new year’s eve, while my partner was off rescuing the wounded (if you recall, he’s a paramedic), my daughter was off galavanting with friends and I managed to have a quiet evening snuggled up with my kitty and a cup of tea watching movies. A perfectly lovely way to bring in the new year if I do say so myself.

With all the excess of the holidays, this is the time of year when our indiscretions (and by that I am referring to those delicious, sugary holiday treats) manage to get the best of our immune system. Sugar can deplete our immune systems for hours and this leaves us more susceptible to colds and viruses that are looking to infiltrate our bodies.
