  • I’ve Had A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts

    January 24, 2011  |  Blog, Recipes  |  Comments Off

Brrrrrr! We just got back from down south to find ourselves in a wintery wonderland. I can’t wait to strap on my skis!

I love being able to travel to warmer climates in the thick of winter. In my opinion, one of the best reasons to vacation in the Caribbean (next to the sun, surf and sand) is the abundance of delicious coconuts! Coconuts have to be one of my all-time favourite treats, lucky me because they are chock-a-block full of nutritional goodness.

    2011 Here We Come!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and brought in the new year with gusto.

This new year’s eve, while my partner was off rescuing the wounded (if you recall, he’s a paramedic), my daughter was off galavanting with friends and I managed to have a quiet evening snuggled up with my kitty and a cup of tea watching movies. Entertaining during the holiday season usually requires breaking out the fine china and silverware. So here goes the annual ritual of blowing off the dust and polishing up the goods. Creating that holiday sparkle with your table wear doesn’t mean sacrificing your health to harsh cleaners. There are many safe and natural alternatives to the chemical laden cleaners you’ll find at the market.

Try out this fabulous and effective silverware cleaner and bring Grandmas cutlery back to its former glory!

    Chemical Free Silver Cleaner

    • 12 cups hot water
    • 4 Tbsp baking soda

Put in the pieces of silver to be cleaned, and leave until bubbles start to form.

Rinse well, and polish with a soft cloth.
